MD, PhD Professor of Radiology Chairman, Department of

Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology,

Caen University and Medical Center, 14033 Caen, France

 

Professor Jean-Pierre PELAGE France, received his medical

degree From University-Paris VI, France 1996, where he did

his internship and residency as well. With his  fellow- and

visiting professorships, first in Royal Surrey Hospital,

Guildford, UK followed by Visiting Associate Professor in

Georgetown University Hospital, Washington DC, USA his

international carrier was well established.

 

After moving back to Europe Professor Pelage was assumed

the positions as Professor of Radiology, first in Boulogne than

later in University Paris, Quest and currently holds a position

as Professor and Chairman of Radiology, Caen University and

Medical Centre. Professor Pelage is a true pioneer in modern

endovascular therapy with a number of medical first patient

series within uterine fibroid vascularisation and clinical

relevance to uterine fibroid embolization.

 

Current Research Activities

• Experimental portal vein embolization in pig

• Radioembolization of liver metastases

• Embolisation management of HCC and hypervascular liver

metastases

• Drug eluting beads for liver chemoembolization

• Pharmacokinetics of drug-loaded microspheres

• Optimization of embolization of pulmonary arteriovenous

malformations

• Follow-up of patients with pulmonary arteriovenous

malformations

• Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia

• Embolization agents in interventional radiology

• Experimental embolization and chemoembolization of the

lungs

• Radiofrequency and microwave ablation  of lung tumours

• Hormonal function and fertility after uterine fibroid

embolization

• Role of multislice CT in the evaluation of the coronary

arteries

• Cardiac MRI in cardiomyopathy

 

Professor Pelage has an impressive scientific production and

has received numerous awards and honors. Finally, Dr Pelage

has in a most generous way shared his experience with us in

Sweden at a number of occasions for which he is awarded

this honorary membership.
